6 Great Family-Friendly Resorts in Phuket

Covering places in Thailand is the one thing I never do enough on my blog even after living here for a decade, mainly because we hardly ever have the time to get off work regularly to explore other places as often as we like. But, here’s a re-blog from BKKKids who has highlighted 6 cool-looking, kid-friendly places in Phuket.

And now that I’ve read about them, my butt’s getting a little itchy to try one of them out. Although, I do have a sneaking suspicion that these may not be very wallet-friendly.

If you’re visiting Phuket with your young travellers, here are 6 of the most family-friendly resorts on the island.

1. Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villas Phuket

Kids will never forget their stay at this fun packed resort in Mai Khao. Home to Splash Jungle Water Park, the largest of its kind on the island, Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villas Phuket offers endless hours of water action, including 12 water slides, extensive aqua playground, lazy river and themed areas. When you feel like a change of scene, the shady beach is just at the front of the resort. To make life even easier, the airport is just 10 minutes away.

2. Sunsuri Phuket

A fairly new hotel in south Phuket, perched on the scenic and tranquil hillside of Naiharn, Sunsuri Phuket offers an abundance of space, with large rooms and balconies. The pool complex encompasses three swimming pools; a quiet zone for lounging and relaxing; and a lively kids area with a winding slide and 4-metre high jumping platform. Moreover, the Sand Box Kids’ Club keeps children entertained with a variety of indoor activities.

3. Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort

Laguna Phuket is a large holiday complex featuring seven branded resorts, most of which cater to families. Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort offers the best recreational facilities for little ones, with several swimming pools, a 55-metre long water slide, kids’ club, playground and fun beach activities in and outside the water. Guests can also join the Camp Laguna programs for children ages eight to 18, including abseiling, rock climbing, arts and crafts, tight rope courses and more.

4. Club Med Phuket

Occupying a prime spot on Kata Beach, Club Med Phuket has always been a hit with families. The all-inclusive resort boasts four dedicated kids clubs for different age groups. While babies are enjoying music and sensory play, toddlers are dressing up and painting, four to 10 year olds are dancing and cooking, and teens are swinging on a flying trapeze, camping and having their own beach parties! To top it all off, Club Med also offers a breastfeeding room, playgrounds, circus workshop, family yoga and a teen spa.

5. Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket

Overlooking Karon Beach, Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket is a huge wonderland for families. With the beach just a few steps away, there are all sorts of water sports to enjoy, from kayaking and sailing to snorkelling. You can also meander down a lazy river and splash around in the waterfalls and water slides at the resort’s water park. Also, a cliff jumping platform allows those daring enough to make a big splash. For indoor activities, the kids’ club offers separate programmes for younger and older kids.

6. Iniala Beach House

At the very top end of the resort market is the secluded Iniala Beach House, which is located just north of Phuket in Natai. If you are feeling extravagant, you can book the whole property, consisting of eight villas, for around USD10,000 a night. The resort is a dream come true for little ones, featuring its own amazing kids hotel! The impressive kids’ club includes a tree house, cave, theatre and costume shop, and there are even beds for themed slumber parties. Children will receive a goody-filled backpack on arrival with T-shirts, storybooks and games, and there is a special menu at the fine dining restaurant.

  1. I want to go there NOW! Great descriptions….But I definitely need to save money.

    • Right? 🙂 I’m itching too..but I’m hampered by the fact that my pockets aren’t that deep for such luxuries! One of these days, one of these days. And you go start saving that money so you can tell me your experience when you get there! 😀
