One very fine, but rare evening, Silver Bullet volunteered to whip up Risotto with Veal as our main course for dinner.
It was simple, it was yummy and for that evening, it felt like it was food for the soul.
Silver Bullet’s creation; Risotto with veal
The portion was generous and he made more than plenty to last us for a few days. We ended up having to freeze the leftover, thinking that we could keep the portions for later use.
Bad mistake. When we re-heated up the frozen meal in a microwave oven several weeks later, the risotto had transformed into a very, very soggy porridge. It still tasted good though, and texture-wise, perhaps it was more suitable for babies without teeth.
Lesson learnt:
Never, ever freeze a freshly-made risotto, unless of course, you’d want to feed it to a baby.
The weather in Bangkok has been more than just pleasant in the last one week as temperatures started to dip to the lower twenties. “Winter” weather like this makes me want to just walk the streets of Bangkok aimlessly, as, the chills ooze out yet another holiday mood.
If only the weather is like this everyday of the year!
This guy made me smile when I stumbled upon his site link not too long ago. While we have already passed the one year mark of parenting, his sketches speaks volume and one that I can definitely relate to. I especially love the “Me” to “We” strip, they were beautifully done indeed.
Well, all of them are and I’m re-blogging a couple of them to share with you.
