Fabulous Flavours: Summer Road-Tripping – Hungry in Hungary
It’s only apt that we continue on with the weekly feature of Friday Flavours and carry the theme of our travel eats in Hungary over, don’t you think?
There’ll be no recipes (again) this week, but what I do have are photos of the wonderful flavours of Hungary during our stay there. From cheap eats to medieval-style to fine-dining – they are nothing but fabulous, flavourful and amazing, amazing food.
One thing I am very thankful for is the fact that the kids are not too picky about their food. They have always been adventurous and so far, they eat whatever we eat. They do need a little bit of encouragement sometimes but for most of the time, they are game to try something new.
We made them live by the rule of food since they were little:
Try at least 3x. If you don’t like it after the first time, try again. Make up your mind on the 2nd time or 3rd. It’s OK if you still don’t like it then. But if you DO like it, hey! imagine what you could have missed.
So far, 8 out of 10 times that they tried something new, they liked it. I supposed because of their pleasant experience with the taste itself, they have learnt to ignore what the food looks like. They get it that it’s all in the taste.
I love it that we are raising foodies! It has been such a joy to see them eat heartily, sometimes going for seconds and thirds.
We may have been in Hungary, but hungry we will never be. We were always hungry in Hungary!
What are your favourite eats? How do you encourage your kids to eat? Do tell! Let’s swap stories!
These meals look divine, Ann. I am hoping we can visit The Netherlands next year and try some of the food and drink there. My boys love to eat so it is not a problem for me. They even eat vegetables and salad.
Right? Mouth-watering. But I doubt you could get that in the Netherlands…those are authentically Hungarian. The traditional Dutch food for me aren;t so exciting. But I love their deep fried stuff. Those you really have to try. And if you do come by here, holler!!! We’ll go for coffee! 🙂
Ohh wow this food all looks amazing! Thanks for linking up #BloggersBests
Too amazing! They also tasted really good. 🙂
Thank you for the invite, Helen! Have a wonderful week ahead!
