Lounging away and adrift in my own thoughts in the middle of the afternoon at home, I can’t help but notice that our newly semi-refurbished place not only looks cozy, but also feels much more homely. That little bit of adjustments they made in replacing the old, dowdy air-con that were before fixed to the floor, fixing the lights in the living and dining room area, as well as creating a little bit of a wall structure where we place our TV really did make such a huge difference to the overall look and feel.
With our little stuff in place here and there, this rented apartment finally exudes a feeling as if it’s our own home. It really is a shame we don’t own our own place here, but for now at least, it does feel like it’s our home. With that little adjustment made, our art (as well as the lamps) from Bali in place and our three very well-settled cats, everything seems to fit. That they all somehow seemed kinda looked “together”.

I can’t say that these pictures do any justice, really. Nevertheless, it all just feels, well…H.O.M.E. 🙂

What can I say! This book is really a page-turner. It was so gripping and engaging that I had a hard time putting it away while reading it on our vacation. So good that I just could not stay away from it for too long that I read well into the nights while Silver Bullet snoozed away. I finished reading it in a matter of days.
The scenes of a courtroom drama were really intense with the excellent typical English wit and humour, combined with a little bit of (complicated) romance, high-stakes of financial gains as well as several twist and turns. It easily is a story where the villains are contemptible and the heroes are loyal and steadfast.
Definitely one of Jeffrey Archer’s best. A highly recommended read!

New additions to our newly refurbished home all the way from Bali:
Both Silver Bullet and I had an immediate liking to the style the moment we laid our eyes on these. I prefer the first design while Silver Bullet gave an instant liking to the 2nd one. It was hard to choose one over the other as each of us has a stronger preference for a different one. Hence, we decided to get both since we have plenty of empty walls and we did like both anyway!
I like the fact that they are not run-of-mill sort of art pieces. Done by a Balinese artists, no two pieces are alike. The artist does his art to his whims and fancy. Each looks unique on its own and are not replicated. We were told that 2nd one for instance, was apparently done while the artist was not in a sober state! From what, we don’t really know. We just were told that he weren’t at all sober when he created that piece…and perhaps most of his pieces too! We were also told that the artist had raised both arms in the air stating that he doesn’t know how to replicate that anymore and it was not to be a repeat performance. That’s one way to increase its value!
There’s just something zen about the first one and I really, really like it. I do think they look good on our empty walls. Together, they somehow make the home looks complete!
