With yellow or red onions and garlic as the main essentials in your kitchen, you practically can make any stir-fry dishes within minutes!
Stir Fried Bakchoy
Stir-fry Chinese Cabbage with a touch of fresh tumeric
If all you have in the fridge is a bunch of vegetables that could rot within days, stir-frys are such time-saver. Especially so for busy working moms who doesn’t have time for regular grocery shopping – let alone cook up a feast after a long day at work.
So, roll up your sleeves, peel and slice some onions then press some garlic and toss them into a hot pan with a little olive oil. Add some sliced chillies if you wish. Add half a stock cube for a little flavour (you can omit this as this is optional), add salt to taste and continue to stir fry for a minute or two.
Then add in your choice of veggies. Cover it up for a few minutes and turn off the fire.
Voila!
Serve with hot rice Or if you are on a diet, it’s good to eat it on its own too. Also very kid friendly.

…And rejoice in the moment
…that in some way, somehow, you have done something which has made a difference
… and you know that somehow you’ve done it right by those who matter.
——————————————————————————————-
In response to one of the recent assignments this week, we’ve been encouraged to explore something different, something new-to-you and something that is outside my modus operandi.
In jest, I decided to try something I haven’t thought of or done before by creating a photo-poetry(-ish) and blend in with a little something personal – from using Squirt’s toy car and juxtaposed that into the rough-looking surface of my quiche, to capturing a recent moment where I have felt really inspired to continue leading people who, in fact, have been the real mavericks and inspiration to the work that I do.
I then realised that these pictures came out as a form of my self-expression – of blessings, of appreciation which relates very well to the Weekly Photo Challenge:Express Yourself
It may not make sense to some, but after being consumed by nothing but work this past week navigating a ferocious terrain, at this point in time, all of these make perfect sense to me. (I’ll probably laugh about this and cringe to myself if I read back this post in the future!)
Oh! How I chuckled! I grinned and had to titter as I consciously suppressed my laughter to avoid attracting any unwanted attention to myself as I took a small breather to check out other bloggers’ take on the latest #Blogging 101 assignment. I must have looked a little nutso while at it.
This must have been one of the most creative take I have come across in response to the Feed Your Senses Daily Prompt and making the prompt personal.
Mrs. Anglo Swiss has been creatively hilarious with her take on the prompt. Her response was conjuring up a Mr. Super Sense character and not just from anywhere, but from WordPress (!), who, happens to be have a magic potion.
In her story, Mr Super Sense has offered Mrs Anglo Swiss the magic potion to amplify all of her five senses. What ensued as her reply was not only original and as-a-matter-of-fact sort of take on her senses , but amusing and entertaining.
The one that made me laughed a little louder was this:
The last one of your super offer is touch. Do you really think it would be an enjoyment to run my fingers through the silky fur of my three felines and feel every pore, every strand, every tic and every snail that they pick up in my garden? To notice every strange foreign body they might attract on their travels. It would not disturb my furry monsters, I am sure, but I do not think I would enjoy the feeling of giving them a tummy tickle, chin scratch and head stroke, realising what I might encounter.
We have 3 cats and even though they are not outdoor cats, they definitely have rolled around in places and picked up some strange foreign body that have attached themselves to them. So, I definitely can resonate with that one! And no, I wouldn’t like that.
As funny and light-hearted as it sounded, her post did make me think a little harder. What if…what if there is a way to amplify my senses? What if I DO have super-senses? Would I want it?
I guess I don’t mind it – only if I can turn it on and off on demand. I’d love some super senses with my eyes to look through people and be able to see things from a mile away – but that’s the only thing I would want if I could have a super sense. The rest I can do without.

On the other hand, as appealing as it sounds, I think super senses come with a hell lot of inconveniences. I don’t think I want to live with that. Oh! All the poop I could smell. And all the screaming from the kids or hearing little ants in the kitchen talk and bitch what they have to do as they make their way along the sugared trail with the little remnants of food the kids left behind at dinner. It would be so annoying!
Mrs Anglo Swiss tells the story well as she managed to bring out the very essence of being satisfied with what’s given, despite the (perceived) imperfections.
Dulled senses isn’t exactly a bad thing really, super senses or not, as she puts it, I am actually quite happy with what I have. And that is all that matters!
P.S:
I think she is one of the more creative writers I have come across. As I clicked away to her other posts, I realised that she also runs another blog dedicated to her cats; which is just as hilarious! (That will certainly go into my blogroll!)
