My Monday in Zurich
Feeling excited wasn’t quite the feeling I had upon checking in for my long-haul flight to Miami on a Sunday evening as this sign below reminded me of my journey ahead:

After almost 12 hours of flying, I had:
- watched 2.5 movies
- being fed like a king throughout the journey
- slept like a baby for 7 hours straight whilst in flight – a personal record for I don’t usually sleep for more than 3 hours at a stretch while flying
- and not once did I bother to turn on my laptop as we made our way to Zurich International Airport
The 12 hour journey seemed to have flew by and the next thing I knew, I was sitting in a transit lounge in Zurich and catching up on emails as I waited for my connection flight to Miami, Florida.
I had a little downtime there, and as I sat on the couch, I found myself staring blankly into the sky. I remember feeling very well-rested after and, for a fleeting moment, I felt like there really wasn’t any care in the world. One by one the plane took off and as I observed my surroundings, I was acutely aware of the silence all around.
It was my very first Monday in Zurich ever and as I looked out of the window, I know that my journey was far from over as I was only halfway there! (more stories to come, time permitting)
