Quote Challenge Day 1: Experiment
In response to Estelea’s Blog Quote Challenge:
There’s a little back story to this picture from our recent Singapore trip: Squirt got busy. Really busy.
Instead of running around like he usually does, this water fountain kept him occupied for a good 40 minutes or so as he tried to engineer and re-engineer the directions of the water. He pressed and he squirted (other people), he sat on it and he moved his fingers in all directions in trying to see how far or how high he could work the water’s direction. He was experimenting.
He was completely focused on the task he set for himself at hand, and was oblivious to his surroundings. His concentration level was high. He owned that one fountain and he wasn’t easily distracted by anyone around him. He grinned his fattest grins when he could squirt the water at a higher level versus his previous attempts with the mere placement of his fingers. For once, this little boy stayed put. No one could have pulled him away.
It was fascinating to observe him from the side. We both gained a little knowledge – he from experimenting it all on his own, and me from observing him
The rules are to post 3 quotes over 3 days and nominate 3 bloggers each time to carry on with the challenge. My nominees are:
If I have nominated you before for the same challenge, I’m sorry. Only because I may have forgotten that I did!
Thank you so very much! We could start on Friday and run it over the weekend.
How Awesome!!
Looking forward to the weekend read! ?
That is a beautiful photo of your handsome little man! Isn’t it great how much we can learn from kids and they’re not even aware of their lesson?
I love that photo and it made me realise that he is looking more grown up after I took the picture. Oh yes! It’s just amazing to watch them and especially when they are figuring it out by themselves. So determined!!! Thanks, Jas! 😀
Waou, he is SO tall !!! what a big boy!!! I love the quote too, we definitely live by this one (and so does our house 😛 ) XXX
He’s got the Dutch genes!Length and width.Loves his cheese and milk. 😀 What do they say about experiments… :p
