Kindness Doesn’t Cost a Thing

So many thoughts floating through my head. So many things I want to write about; Posts I’ve been wanting to follow-up on. One of which is a reminder to call-out for participation for my Recipe Showdown…amongst other things!

Saying I’m busy is just a lame excuse. So I’m going to go with having to prioritise the madness of life as I try to party along in the hamster’s wheel and away from blogging in the last one week.

There was however a constant recurring theme. I see it more often in my kids (despite their occasional temper-tantrums) and people around me; even if it only means to make other people’s life a tad better.  It makes my heart swell.

We really should be sprinkling such shit more often than often. In every nook and cranny you could find.

Since we are on the topic of kindness, could you ever be so kind to spread a little kindness in letting people know of our Recipe Showdown Challenge? I’m still looking for more recipes with SAGE to feature at the end of this month and I’ve been on a prowl to collect submissions!

Mucho Gracias. Dankuwel. Terima Kasih. Shukryah. Xie Xie Nie. Danke. Merci. Khop khun kah. Thank you.

Rules are outlined here and I do hope to see you soon! 🙂

Friday Flavour: White Sauce Lasagna

Bored with making the regular tomato-based lasagna? I hereby recommend you to toss out the tomato altogether and make your lasagna without it.

Yes, really! It works.

You see, one fine day, I got bored with the same old shit recipe. I must have opened and closed my drawer of stashed ingredients a hundred times and each time I closed the drawer,  I was left feeling very uninspired.  I’m sure you understand those moments.

And like every other day I am at a loss of what to cook to feed the hungry tummies in our household.

Asking Silver Bullet and the kids what they want to eat was met with “I don’t knows”. Squirt, on the other hand, was happy to have hagelslags (chocolate sprinklers) and cheese for dinner.Every day if he could. But that’s just not done.

I then thought of lasagna but I did not have any tomatoes. So what’s a bored, uninspired mom to do with only lasagna noodles, minced beef, creme fraiche and cream cheese as the main ingredients with no tomatoes to speak of? She gets creative!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that, a splash of something and a dash of that…and we have a fantastic meal to feed the hungry!

Sunday Humour: Random Job Reference

Category: Entertainment

If you got 3 minutes and 55 seconds to spare, you really have to watch this prank video.

Back story: When calling a random number to see if they’ll be a strangers’ job reference, 2 Australian comedy duo, Hamish and Andy accidentally found the best mate in Australia anyone could ever hope for!

So hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing. The best line from James was really, “What you see is what you get!”. Too brilliant!

Here’s wishing you a wonderful week blessed by your bestest mates in the world.
