Friday Flavours: Chinese Cabbage with Poached Eggs

Something simple, something quick, something healthy.

All you need to have handy would be some cabbages and eggs as the main. The base is nothing more than just pungent onion, garlic and ginger. Toss them all into the pan and then top it with chives and fried shallots.

It really is as simple as that. Never mind the adults –  this is extremely kid-friendly too. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  1. 1 head Chinese Cabbage cut and rinsed
  2. 1 bulb onion peeled and sliced thin
  3. 1 clove garlic peeled and crushed
  4. Half cube vegetable bouillon
  5. Half inch ginger chopped and pressed
  6. Half tspn Worcestershire sauce
  7. 4 eggs
Instructions
  1. Heat up oil in a pan
  2. When the pan is hot enough, saute ginger, garlic and onion till they are slightly browned
  3. Add in the stock cube and stir well
  4. Add in the cabbages. Cover for about 1 minute. Then stir well and cover it up again
  5. Take of the cover and crack the eggs; one next to the other. Cover for 2-3 minutes till the yellow is almost cooked
  6. Turn off the fire
  7. Serve with rice
Notes
  1. Feel free to leave the egg yolk runny (or firm) as per your heart's desire.
