Fabulous Friday Flavour: Omelette with Chives, Chillies & Onions
This omelette dish has always been a staple in our home. It’s usually served as an add-on dish complementing white rice, a meat/seafood dish with gravy and stir-fry vegetables. It’s something I grew up with and has since carried on the “tradition” with my own family.
The rice and a meat gravy dish would feel a little lonely without the omelette, and without it, the entire meal experience would not as satisfying. That’s of course, according to me.
Not too difficult to make. It takes all but 10 minutes of your time. If you have a leftover omelette, you can always eat it with bread and make an omelette sandwich for breakfast or lunch.

- 5 eggs
- 1 red shallots, sliced thin
- 1 fresh chilli (green or red does not matter!), sliced thin
- 1 spruce of chives, chopped
- Half cup non-fat milk
- Salt to taste
- 5-6 tbsp of olive oil
- Mix all of the ingredient together. Beat well
- Heat up a frying pan. When the oil is hot enough, pour the batter into the pan
- Once the bottom of the egg is somewhat set, flip over to the other side. Do this quick but gently so as not to break the omelette to keep its circular shape
- Fry for about 2-3 minutes before flipping over again
- When both sides of the surface appear a little browned, turn off the fire.
- Serve.
YUM! Do you have some kind of super-powers? You have a job, two small kiddos, a husband AND you post so often! How do you do it? I’m all stressed out managing my once a week posts ๐ Must be your youth! ๐
Hahaha! Maybe I do..it’s called sleep-deprivation and a little crazy! :p I try to post 2-3x a week..which, tehnically, isn’t often! I do try to schedule them when I get the chance to write in trying to “beat myself to it”. Thankfully, the kids go tot bed by 7pm..so after dinner and a little winding down, if I’m not working, I have a bit of time to pull something out of my ass! LOL.
LOL, my a$$ is always so tired…I had to cut down to 1x, not counting the hop on Thursdays. ๐ I love your craziness….Hugs!
Hahahaaa!! Your Thursday Hop requires a lot of commitment I imagine and that’s a lot of hard work, too. And it’s awesome you can do that. I think I’ll die if I start my own link-ups, so I just shamelessly link up to others instead. :p xxx.
This is a splendid recipe.Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop xo
My pleasure! And thank you for dropping by, Katherine. ๐
Yum, I’m on an elimination diet right now but one thing I can still eat is eggs for breakfast. This sounds like a recipe I need to try. Thanks for including #SmallVictoriesSundaylinkup when you shared this recipe. Pinning to our linkup board.
Elimination diet is always hard! Yay for eggs!! ๐ Thank you for dropping by and pinning to your link-up board. Much appreciated. ๐
