Nothing perks up an otherwise full-on months of navigating the complex, intricate and draining world of people in real life than discovering that my labour of love in the blogging world has been bestowed by an award nomination called “Respect”. It’s a big word that; and I am extremely humbled by this recognition, especially for a small-time, bumbling blogger like me.
Created by renowned artist Rob Goldstein, this was passed on to me by one of my favourite Daddy Blogger, Eric, author of All in A Dad’s Work. He’s got lots of stories, anecdotes and random everyday musing of his life as a Dad, a husband and a teacher. Even my husband reads his stuff, and sometimes updates me on what he wrote! One of his recent random musing is asking 23 Questions to his kids – I’d love to try those questions on my own kids one of these days. But only if I could get their attention long enough to answer me!
This is what Rob says about this award:
“The “Respect” Award is my personal award for fellow bloggers who consistently reach out to other bloggers, offer support, are kind, struggle to understand differences in people, and who treat themselves and other people with kindness and respect.
You don’t have to do anything for this award.
You can choose to copy the Award Picture and give the award to the people who have earned your respect or you can do nothing.
This is my way of saying thank you. You have earned my respect.”
I am very honoured indeed, and like Eric, I like this award for its simplicity. With this recognition, I’d also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge other bloggers who are “up-there” in my respect scale for doing what they do and as stated above:
It goes without saying that , Eric himself are both up on my respect list as well, and along with lots more bloggers out there. I’m saving some award nominations which have been waaaay overdue for those whom I haven’t mentioned.
This award has been a real honour and presented a great start to November. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
